SARSTEDT, a leading manufacturer and distributor of blood collection and medical devices, laboratory consumables, and instrumentation, seeks a remote Field Service Technician.

Responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing laboratory automation equipment at customer sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides on-site installation and repair of Sarstedt, Inc.’s laboratory automation line.
• Creates and submits complete service reports to the end-user and Service Manager.
• Maintains proper inventory of required parts and tools for repair work.
• Arranges and coordinates travel plans based on customer needs.
• Demonstrates and explains correct operation of equipment to customers.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electronic or mechanical science from a two-year college or technical school; and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, pneumatics, and print reading.
• Ability to speak effectively to customers and employees of the organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word processing software.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
• Potential risk of electrical shock.
• This role requires over 75% overnight travel, including air travel, with occasional weekends. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
