Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned maintenance professional to service electro-mechanical automated machinery in food processing and packaging plants. You will travel extensively to customer sites, diagnose faults, and restore equipment performance to manufacturer specifications.

Reading diagrams and service manuals, you will implement preventive maintenance, share status updates with the team, and contribute to safety improvements on current and upcoming projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience servicing electro-mechanical automated machinery.
• Experience diagnosing issues and repairs on automated food processing and packaging equipment is preferred.
• Applied mechanical and electrical engineering principles to ensure equipment performance to spec.
• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, or related control systems.
• Bilingual English–Spanish skills are desired.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to analyze equipment, troubleshoot, and restore performance to spec.
• Read diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Communicate with customers and team to prioritize actions and report equipment status.
• Ensure routine preventive maintenance techniques are understood and shared with customers.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country but may travel beyond the territory as required.
• After training travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri).
• Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Engage with customers on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
• Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customer apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
• Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.

Requirements

• Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience—servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
• Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
• Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturer’s specifications.
• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
• Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.
• Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired.
