Job summary

Frontmatec seeks a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, conveyors, and mechanical systems at customer sites across the United States and Canada.

You will perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, assist installations, read schematics, document service reports, and coordinate with sales and engineering while traveling extensively and complying with safety requirements in food processing environments.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel extensively across the United States and Canada.
• Valid passport and driver's license.
• Experience working in food processing environments with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment at customer facilities.
• Assist installation, commissioning, and upgrades of equipment at customer sites.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and electrical/pneumatic schematics to perform maintenance.
• Execute service and maintenance orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide detailed data in comprehensive reports after completion of installation/service jobs.
• Comply with all health and safety programs.
• Develop and maintain customer relations and communicate with customers, sales teams and partners to meet needs.
• Provide feedback to After Sales Teams to secure global implementation.
• Complete weekly expenses and hours reports.
• Support Engineering, Production, and QA departments to secure product quality.
• Participate in development of training programs.
• Self-manage travel and accommodations.

Job description

The incumbent will be an Ambassador of Frontmatec at all times while providing technical service expertise to internal and external customers. The Field Service Technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, conveyor systems, and mechanical machines in a food.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment at customer facilities.
• Assist installation & commissioning of new equipment as well as upgrades on existing

installations.

• Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical and pneumatic schematics in order to perform required maintenance and service.
• Execute service and maintenance orders/jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide accurate and sufficiently detailed data in comprehensive reports after completion of installation and/or service jobs.
• Comply with all company and client health and safety programs.
• Participate actively in the development of customer relations.
• Effectively communicate with customers, sales teams and partners to ensure that

customer needs and demands are understood and are being met.

• Provide feedback to After Sales Teams regarding customer needs and demands to secure global implementation.
• Complete weekly expenses and hours report.
• Support and work with the company ́s Engineering department on the development

of new products.

• Support and work with the company’s Engineering, Production, and QA departments in order to secure the product quality.
• When needed participate in the development of the company’s training programs.
• Self managed responsible for booking travel and accommodations.

Required knowledge and skills

• Ability to travel extensively across the United States and Canada
• Valid passport and driver’s license.
• Ability to work in food processing environments (cold, wet, sanitary conditions) in full compliance with safety and hygiene requirements.

Education and experience

• Minimum 3-5 years practical experience in the field
