Job summary

gpac is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, commission, and optimize high-value industrial equipment at customer sites across the region. This role demands hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting, with travel about 75% domestically and occasional international assignments.

You will read blueprints, train customer personnel, complete Field Service Reports, and work directly with diverse teams to ensure equipment operates safely and to specification.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics and related documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication with customer personnel at all levels.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% and international travel when needed.
• Ability to work independently in the field and complete Field Service Reports.

About The Role

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to serve as the face of our organization in the field, working directly with advanced, high-value capital equipment used by customers around the world. This industrial machinery company manufactures a wide spectrum of mixers, dryers, extruders, compounders, kneaders, reaction vessels, and centrifugal separation equipment for large or small scale manufacturing applications. This is a hands-on position for a mechanically minded problem solver who enjoys variety, learns quickly, and isn't afraid to get in the field and figure things out. What You'll Do

• Install, set up, commission, and optimize new, high-value industrial machinery at customer facilities.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in the field.
• Identify root causes of equipment issues and execute accurate, effective corrective actions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and related technical documentation.
• Work directly with customer personnel to ensure equipment is operating safely, reliably, and according to specifications.
• Train and instruct customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting-from shop-floor operators to management and executive-level stakeholders.
• Complete accurate Field Service Reports documenting work performed, equipment conditions, findings, and recommendations.
• Travel domestically approximately 75% of the time, typically for 3-5 days at a time.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Mechanical Machinist, Millwright, Industrial Service Technician, or similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated technical problem-solving ability.
• Excellent blueprint and technical drawing reading skills.
• Practical experience troubleshooting:

• A strong curiosity and willingness to learn complex equipment and new technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with people at all levels of a customer organization.

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 75% of the time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for occasional international travel.
