Job summary

SJE is seeking a Field Service and Technical Support Technician to support its Primex brand. The role will be based out of Largo, FL or Ashland, OH and involves field startup, commissioning, testing, and customer support for control systems.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, and instrumentation, read electrical drawings, and collaborate with project teams to deliver dependable control solutions and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with field service, startup, commissioning, or technical support.
• QA testing or factory testing of control panels or similar equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Working with PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, instrumentation, or other industrial controls.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical docs.
• Provide technical support to customers by phone, email, or in person.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform field startup, commissioning, testing, and service on control systems.
• Troubleshoot installed systems and support aftermarket service needs.
• Answer technical questions related to hardware, software, and controls.
• Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, or in person.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality solutions.
