Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide high-quality phone support and hands-on technical assistance for customers.

The role involves troubleshooting, field service, and training, with opportunities to grow within a global leader in variable speed drives and robotics. Ideal candidates will have a background in electrical engineering, at least one year in technical customer interaction, and strong communication and diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSET preferred, or equivalent training/experience.
• 1 year of experience in technical customer interaction with drives/controllers/robotics.
• Understanding of applications relating to variable frequency drives and motion controls.
• Knowledge of test equipment and ability to diagnose electronics using scopes and meters.
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to obtain a US passport.
• Computer literacy and good typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, efficient telephone support for aftermarket services.
• Complete training to become a Certified Specialist and stay current with product changes.
• Travel on field service calls per customer needs; be available for 24-hour on-call duty on rotation.
• Input call information into CRM and business databases; maintain reports.
• Assist in training and mentoring of newly hired service engineers; interface with customers and partners to improve satisfaction.
