Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division is seeking a Technical Support Engineer based in Waukegan, IL.

The role provides high-quality phone support, technical expertise, and field service assistance for customers working on installation, startup, maintenance and repair of drives and motion systems. Ideal candidates have a BSEE/BSET or equivalent, around one year of experience in technical customer interaction, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSET preferred or equivalent training/experience.
• 1 year of technical customer interaction with drives, motion controllers, CNCs, PLCs or robotics.
• Good understanding of industrial controls and applications.
• Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscopes, line power analyzers, DMMs).
• Valid driver's license and able to obtain U.S. passport.
• Computer literacy with word processing, graphics and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, accurate telephone support for aftermarket services.
• Complete training to become Certified Specialist and maintain certification.
• Travel for field service calls and participate in on-call rotations.
• Input service data into CRM and generate reports.
• Assist training of new service engineers and interface with customers and partners.
