Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician-Network in the Waunakee area. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecom products and equipment, including fiber and copper cables, for various customer environments.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing splicing, and supporting customer needs while proactively promoting TDS services. On-call duties and travel within the service area may apply.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of basic technical telecommunications experience or military service with honorable discharge.
• 6+ months of fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing, installation or repair training.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willingness to be available for on-call/standby and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, tests, splices, repairs, and maintains telecommunications equipment and related network facilities for new and existing customers.
• Install, configure, maintain, and repair Key Systems, PBX, Centrex, and related business systems; fiber terminals and ISPs.
• Identify faulty cable locations and repair buried, aerial, underground, and customer cables; perform cable fault tests.
• Provide excellent customer service and actively educate/sell TDS products and services.
• Manage project installations of systems and coordinate related tasks as directed.
