Job summary

Komatsu seeks a Field Service Technician to provide hands-on technical support for our industrial machinery at customer sites across the Chicago area. Travel to multiple locations, installations, trainings and preventive maintenance are key components of the role, with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a technical background, willing to travel over 70%, and can coordinate with customers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 3+ years of related technical training or experience.
• Associate degree preferred for mid-size press service roles.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (over 70%).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform inspection/maintenance, modifications, troubleshooting, and repair of Komatsu machinery at customer sites.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and customer maintenance personnel as needed.
• Provide technical phone support for troubleshooting and repair.
• Promote Service & Parts sales by contacting customers and scheduling regular PM services.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and report feedback to management.
