Job summary

Ziegler CAT in Grundy Center, IA is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar heavy equipment, power generation and agricultural machines. You will respond to customer needs, perform troubleshooting, and complete repairs with a focus on safety and quality.

The pay range is $38.00 to $51.00 per hour, starting wage based on skills, experience, and location. Benefits include health/dental/vision and life insurance, 15 days PTO, nine holidays, 401(k) with match, HSA

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of mechanic experience.
• 5+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical and fuel systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs Caterpillar equipment including heavy construction and agricultural machines.
• Responds to customer needs promptly to ensure maximum value of service performed.
• Uses diagnostic skills to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and a well-kept service vehicle.
• Communicates job status with supervisor and completes work orders accurately.
