Ziegler CAT in Altoona, IA is hiring a Diesel Technician to service Caterpillar heavy construction equipment. Work schedule is M-F, 7am-3:30pm with occasional OT. Starting wage is $27.00 to $45.00 per hour, dependent on skills and location.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical college degree in diesel technology or equivalent.
• 2+ years of diesel engine/equipment repair experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, and fuel systems.
• Ability to document work orders and communicate effectively with supervisors and customers.
• Own mechanic tool set and safe work practices.
• Pre-employment drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs Caterpillar equipment including heavy construction machinery.
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner.
• Work safely at all times following policies and standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians on troubleshooting repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to grow skills.
