Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking a Field Service Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair CAT heavy construction equipment in the Sioux City area. You will work with hydraulic, diesel, electrical systems and diagnostic tools, with after-hours on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field or 2 years of equivalent shop experience.
• 3+ years of diesel equipment repair experience, preferably with field work.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, engine/emission and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs CAT heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders and paving equipment.
• Work with hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems using independent judgment.
• Maintain safety, document work orders and communicate parts needs.
• Respond to customer needs promptly and participate in after-hour calls as directed.
