Coperion is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Rhode Island. Candidates may live in Massachusetts or Connecticut but must be within an hour's commute to the facility and be available to work from the Rhode Island location when not traveling.

The Field Service Engineer (Recycling) is responsible for representing Herbold Meckesheim, US (a Coperion brand) by providing hands-on technical assistance, installation support, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, refurbishing, upgrades, and training at customer sites or remotely.

Work You’ll Do:

1. Represent the company as a Service Representative, assisting customers and/or personnel, including identifying opportunities for cross or upselling equipment. Provide feedback on field information regarding Coperion equipment and others.
2. Install, troubleshoot, overhaul, and maintain gearboxes, lube oil systems, drive components, process sections, downstream equipment such as pelletizers, gear pump systems, and other related equipment. Assist with startup of new equipment and train customer personnel as needed. Participation in classroom training may be required.
3. Be responsible, dependable, safety-minded, and work in accordance with all Coperion policies and standards, as well as customer safety, drug, and alcohol regulations.
4. When not traveling, provide on-call assistance via phone, email, or video call, assist with service reports, create field information packages, and perform related tasks.
5. Maintain accurate records through detailed reports submitted timely to relevant partners.
6. Be willing to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, and travel extensively (up to 3 weeks within North America and up to 12 weeks outside North America). Must have a valid passport and a clean driving record.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

9. When not traveling, work from our Rhode Island location, supporting daily tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Safety training such as OSHA 10 or 30 (General Industry).
• Experience supervising projects and guiding teams during equipment installation and maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, with knowledge of wiring, electrical, control, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and understand equipment drawings.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, diagrams, and manuals.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Valid passport, driver’s license, and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working remotely with minimal supervision.
• PLC/HMI programming skills.
