Position Summary:

The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for representing Coperion and providing assistance to customers and/or assigned personnel in the areas of installation, start-up, troubleshooting and maintenance phases of Coperion equipment at customer’s plant site or related designated areas. As a customer-facing employee, you will offer expertise, guidance, and training to customers, subordinates, and co-workers as you represent the Company to Shape What Matters For Tomorrow.

Work You’ll Do:

  1. Represent Coperion in the capacity of Senior Service Representative providing assistance and advice to customers and/or assigned personnel, including identifying opportunities to cross or upsell equipment. Provide feedback on information received in the field on Coperion equipment and others.
  2. Install, troubleshoot, overhaul and/or maintain gear boxes, lube oil systems, drive components, process sections, downstream equipment such as pelletizers, gear pump systems and other associated equipment. Assist customers to start-up newly installed equipment and train customer personnel as needed. Participation in classroom type training may be required.
  3. Must be responsible, dependable, plus safety-minded and work in accordance with all Coperion policies and standards as well as adhere to all customer safety, drug, and alcohol control regulations and procedures.
  4. Must be willing to work flexible hours (holidays, weekends) and travel extensively in accordance with field service travel regulations. Responsibilities will include travel throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and overseas; must have a valid passport and driver's license with clean driving record.
  5. When not on travel assignment, provide on-call assistance to customers via various channels (phone, email, video call, etc.), assist with service report preparation and distribution, create field information packages for self, team, or the Company, and/or other related tasks.
  6. Keep accurate records by providing highly detailed reports and submitting them to appropriate partners in a timely manner.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
  8. Expected travel = 90%

Team:

This role will be part of the Aftermarket Sales and Service group.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Minimum 4 years’ experience in Field Service or in-house Assembly or servicing of large capital equipment required.
  3. The ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering reports, drawings, office procedures, and instruction manuals is required.
  4. The ability to use standard tools.
  5. The ability to write clear, concise routine correspondence as well as comprehensive documents.
  6. Knowledge of word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), PowerPoint.
  7. Must have valid passport, driver’s license, and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. If position is deemed to be heavy on the electrical side of field repair, then additional experience and work background will apply, including but not limited to: Human Machine Interface, Wonderwave using RS Logics 5000, RS View, Controllogix, Omron PLC/HMI, Compact Logics processor/Allen Bradley, Variable Frequency Drive, AC/DC drives, computer networking and ethernet IP.
  2. Experience in Material Handling is highly preferred.
