Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a technically skilled individual to perform on-site service and repair of semiconductor processing equipment.

The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a degree in Science or Engineering, with preference for Associate's or Bachelor's degrees and industrial experience. You'll troubleshoot equipment, order/install parts, and train customer technicians while maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics, engineering, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot semiconductor capital equipment.
• Excellent customer interface skills are required.

This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a degree in Science or Engineering, with a preference for candidates holding an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Industrial experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Order and install parts as needed.
• Respond to emergency service calls as required.
• Instruct customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance.
• Perform upgrades and modifications to equipment as needed.
• Stay current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, factory periodicals, and other relevant materials.
• Maintain the upkeep, maintenance, and security of company property including vehicles, tools, etc.
• Adhere to standards of conduct acceptable to both the company and customers to maintain credentials for being on customer sites.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics, engineering, or other applicable field of study; Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology preferred.
• No prior experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment required.
• Excellent customer interface skills are required.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use appropriate tools are required.
• Thorough understanding of technical issues involving the maintenance, repair, and/or installation of company equipment and procedures is required.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds is required. May require bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing. May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Duties also include the application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional travel to TEL factories, training facilities, and customer locations may be required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. A clean room garment may be required to be worn for lengthy periods of time. PPE is required including, but not limited to, consistent wearing of safety glasses, safety shoes, and a bump cap. Job duties may require walking up to and in excess of 10,000 steps and walking up and down multiple flights of stairs per shift (12 hours). Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities, and customer locations may be required.
