Job summary

Granco Clark is seeking a Field Service & Installation Specialist to install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment at our facility and customer locations. This role focuses on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems with substantial travel, primarily in Belding, MI.

You will work with customers, engineering, and service teams to keep equipment operating safely, while supporting commissioning, testing and documentation efforts. Travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals and technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate customer requests for service of equipment.
• Confer with supervisors and engineering personnel to resolve design and/or operational problems.
• Assess and resolve customer complaints relating to service.
• Assist with commissioning activities and on-floor testing of equipment.
• Create and maintain service-related documents and reports.
• Manage installation crews and coordinate installation activities.
• Respond to and resolve technical support requests from customers and other departments.

We're looking for a skilled, customer-focused Field Service & Installation Specialist to install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair Granco Clark equipment at our facility and customer locations.

This is an opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, solving problems in the field and working directly with customers. You'll work with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems while partnering with customers, Engineering, Service and other internal teams to keep equipment operating safely and effectively.

This position is located mainly in Belding, Michigan but requires extensive travel, local and overnight.

The pay range for this position is $28-$38/hour.

What You'll Do

• Direct and coordinate customer requests for service of equipment.
• Confer with supervisors and engineering personnel to resolve design and/or operational problems with Granco Clark equipment.
• Assess and resolve customer complaints relating to service.
• Assist with the commissioning activities of Granco Clark where needed.
• Assist with on-floor testing of equipment where needed.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of service-related documents. Create new documents as needed or requested.
• Keep management informed of current issues relating to customer satisfaction.
• Promote the service department to all customers while representing Granco Clark in a professional, productive, and helpful manner.
• Analyze equipment problems and prepare technical reports for use by engineering and management.
• Extensive travel is a requirement of this position.
• Respond to and resolve requests for technical support from customers and other departments.
• Assist with Part Sales
• Directs the layout of equipment being installed.
• Directs the connecting of electrical wiring and cables as required.
• Directs the sequence and installation of mechanical equipment.
• Completes any Quality System records/activities requirements.
• Assist with getting Installation quotes.
• Manages installation crews whether supplied by us or the customer.
• Answer Afterhours support calls and assist customers as necessary.

What You Bring

• We're looking for someone who combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with excellent customer service and communication.
• Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Familiarity with relevant software and diagnostic tools; Allen-Bradley experience is a plus.
• Ability to quickly identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
• Ability to think logically and remain composed when troubleshooting under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers.
• Strong organization and documentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple service needs.
• Strong customer-service mindset.
• Commitment to safety and following established safety protocols.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline , or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 75%)
