Door Systems is part of the ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems group. We provide sales and services to commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential customers across the Chicagoland area.

Our sales teams craft solutions balancing cost, quality, and lifetime performance. Our Master Technicians are trained to install, repair, and maintain all industry products and access solutions.

Customer service is the backbone of our organization, so high-level customer service skills are essential. Technicians operate in designated areas, use company vehicles at customer sites, maintain inventory, handle administrative paperwork, and ensure safety to prevent injuries.

Responsibilities

• Service various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, fire doors, loading dock equipment, swing/slide gates, pedestrian doors, impact doors, rubber doors, fabric doors, and rollshutters.
• Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial overhead doors, dock equipment, motors, and controls.
• Interact courteously and professionally with customers, end-users, and general contractors.
• Participate in training programs offered.
• Work on a rotational basis for 24/7 service; on-call availability required.
• Standard hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; overtime and weekend work may be necessary.

Working Conditions

• Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, often with limited sitting opportunities.
• Heavy lifting (60-70 lbs), sometimes overhead.
• Climb and work from ladders up to 12 feet high.
• Operate powered lift equipment; training provided if certifications are outdated.
• Use hand tools (own tools required) and power tools (company provides power tools).

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years as a journeyman-level technician servicing overhead doors.
• Mechanical aptitude, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and focus on safety.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Welding and electrical experience are advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
