Job summary

Integra is seeking a Field Service Solutions Specialist Generator SME in Houston to serve as the on-site expert for modular data centers and mission-critical generator systems. The role covers full lifecycle technical leadership—from build and testing to field commissioning, troubleshooting and ongoing service performance.

You will lead Level 2 diagnostics, perform root cause analyses, train technicians, support customer and vendor engagements, and collaborate with engineering and QA to improve

Qualifications

  • 3 years of generator field service experience including installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair.
  • Experience performing load bank tests and diagnosing advanced failures.
  • L2 technical support or mentoring junior technicians is desirable.
  • Experience with modular data center infrastructure is a strong advantage.
  • Expert level knowledge of industrial generator systems (diesel/natural gas engines, alternators, governors, control panels, fuel delivery).
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site generator support across manufacturing locations.
  • Lead advanced diagnostics for mechanical, electrical, fuel, and control systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT) processes and commissioning.
  • Create troubleshooting guides and knowledgebase content.
  • Deliver generator training to field technicians.
  • Maintain accurate service records and safety documentation.

The Opportunity

The Field Service Solutions Specialist Generator SME serves as Integras primary expert for generator systems supporting modular data centers and mission critical infrastructure Embedded within Integras manufacturing operations Akron Harrow Houston etc this role provides full lifecycle technical leadershipfrom equipment build and testing to field commissioning troubleshooting and ongoing service performance As the organizations senior generator specialist this role delivers Level 2 L2 technical support leads complex diagnostics performs root cause analysis trains technicians and supports customer and vendor engagements The Solutions Manager improves system reliability enhances field capability and ensures that Integras generator assets meet the highest standards of safety quality and operational performance

What you will do

Serve as the on site generator systems SME across Integra manufacturing locations maintaining deep knowledge of generator design assembly controls and operationsSupport factory testing FAT processes validation and commissioning to ensure performance safety and quality complianceProvide engineering and manufacturing teams with actionable insights on recurring issues quality concerns and product improvement opportunitiesLead advanced diagnostics for mechanical electrical fuel and control system failuresConduct root cause analysis to resolve operational failures abnormal equipment behavior and performance issuesPerform or supervise complex corrective repairs commissioning recovery and emergency support for mission critical generator systemsExecute and interpret load bank testing to verify capacity stability and operational performanceServe as the primary L2 escalation resource for the Field Service teamProvide remote troubleshooting using schematics system data and live technical consultationDevelop troubleshooting guides standards and knowledgebase content for field techniciansDeliver factory and field based generator training covering operation maintenance safety diagnostics and hands on systems workEvaluate technician competency and reinforce best practices through ongoing coaching and site visitsContinuously improve technical training programs by integrating lessons learned updated procedures and emerging technologiesRepresent Field Service during high complexity technical calls with customers and vendorsCommunicate diagnostic findings repair strategies long term maintenance recommendations and system behaviors with professionalism and clarityCollaborate with engineering QA and manufacturing teams to address systemic issues and enhance product reliabilitySupport interviews and technical evaluations for Field Service Technician candidatesAssist with onboarding skills assessments and reinforcement of Integras safety and quality expectationsMaintain accurate service records logs documentation and parts usage historyAdhere to NFPA NEC OSHA and all applicable safety protocolsParticipate in on call rotations for emergency generator supportEnsure tools equipment test devices and vehicles are properly maintained and calibratedPerform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in Electrical Mechanical Power Generation or related technical field preferred
  • Completion of manufacturer or trade school generator training programs preferred
  • 3 years of generator field service experience including installation commissioning maintenance and repair; mission critical experience strongly preferred
  • Experience performing load bank tests tuning generator performance and diagnosing advanced failures
  • Background providing L2 technical support or mentoring junior technicians is highly desirable
  • Experience working with modular systems industrial facilities or data center infrastructure is a strong advantage
  • Prior collaboration with engineering QA manufacturing or service organizations on product issues and continuous improvement
  • Expert level knowledge of industrial generator systems including dieselnatural gas engines alternators governors ATS control panels and fuel delivery systems
  • Strong mechanical electrical and control systems troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics wiring diagrams single line drawings load calculations and technical manuals
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to represent technical decisions to customers and vendors
  • Willingness to travel frequently between factory and field locations
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs and work in varied climates confined spaces and elevated locations

  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
  • NFPA 70E preferred
  • ASE electrical or mechanical trade certifications preferred
