Job summary

Aurora is seeking experienced Field Service Representatives with hands-on Sungrow experience to support inverter and BESS focused work across utility-scale and commercial solar sites nationwide. This role is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Sungrow inverters, PCS units, and associated systems in the field.

Job description

Aurora is seeking experienced Field Service Representatives with hands‑on Sungrow experience to support inverter and BESS focused work across utility‑scale and commercial solar sites nationwide. This role is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Sungrow inverters, PCS units, and associated systems in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hot and cold commissioning of utility‑scale Sungrow inverters and PCS/BESS equipment (experience with SMA, TMEIC, Schneider, Powin, Samsung, or LG a plus).
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, including firmware upgrades, SCADA parameter tuning, diagnostics, and component/PCS replacement.
• Troubleshoot inverter and BESS faults (electrical, communication, and control) using Sungrow diagnostic tools and standard testing equipment.
• Conduct IV curve tracing, insulation resistance testing, polarity checks, and thermal imaging inspections to verify system performance.
• Perform HV/MV substation switching and support LOTO procedures in HV/MV/LV environments.
• Monitor and resolve faults via SCADA.
• Complete service reports, checklists, and customer documentation accurately and on time. Follow NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable electrical safety standards at all times.
• Provide training and technical support to clients and junior technicians on inverter operation and safety procedures.
• Travel to job sites as required.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years’ field experience with PV inverters, power electronics, or related electrical equipment; Sungrow‑specific experience strongly preferred.
• Sungrow certification (Central Inverter or model‑specific, e.g. 3600/4400) preferred; will consider candidates with direct hands‑on Sungrow field experience in lieu of formal cert.
• Strong knowledge of DC systems (600V-1500V) and AC systems up to 34.5kV.
• High‑voltage switching experience or certification a plus.
• Proficiency with testing equipment such as Fluke multimeters, Meggers, thermal imagers, and IV curve tracers.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and one‑line diagrams.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for field assignments.
• Valid driver’s license required.
