Job summary

Schneider Electric is hiring Field Service Representatives to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair and preventive maintenance on equipment at customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, problem solving, and collaboration with customers and partners across the region.

You will work onsite with occasional non-standard hours, travel within the region, and contribute to high‑quality service delivery. The position requires an associate degree or equivalent training in electrical disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or trade certification in electrical disciplines or equivalent military training.
  • Ability to read blueprints or schematics and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of NFPA‑70E or OSHA safety standards is preferred.
  • 2+ years in field service repair with UPS/power distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment.
  • Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, support teams.
  • Complete field service reports, expense reports, and startup data sheets.
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve complex escalated issues.
  • Participate in continuous learning and training on products.

Job description

Schneider’s Field Service Representatives play an impactful role within the organization – collaborating with customers, team members and third‑party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair and preventive maintenance on both company and third‑party manufactured equipment in a variety of dynamic environments. They are problem solvers, customer focused, and passionate about their work.

This is a site‑based position with occasional non‑standard hours. There is a 40‑hour guarantee (+ overtime) with most work occurring at customer sites. The role focuses on servicing equipment that supports power distribution and critical power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre‑site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment
  • Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams
  • Completion of field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
  • Working with your Manager and/or Regional Service Director to resolve complex escalated issues
  • Continuous learning and training on various products both in the field and in the classroom

On some days you may also:

  • Travel throughout the region for local customer support or even country‑wide travel, including overnight travel by vehicle or air
  • Assist senior technicians and support Project Management on larger system start‑ups
  • Work alongside larger teams of FSRs and collaborate with Project Managers on higher complexity projects
  • Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues as required
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, or equivalent military training in electrical‑related disciplines
  • Ability to read blueprints/schematics
  • Thorough understanding of AC and DC power principles and supply circuit components
  • 2+ years of field service repair and customer service with UPS systems, power distribution, and related equipment
  • 2+ years of field services or equivalent industry experience
  • Good safety practices, including lock‑out/tag‑out, compliance with safety programs, and timely completion of safety trainings
  • Knowledge of NFPA‑70E or OSHA standards preferred
  • Safe driving and vehicle operations skills
  • Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and operation manuals
  • Strong written communication skills for service reports, correspondence, and procedures
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, lift up to 40 pounds, work outside in various environments, and stand for extended periods in confined spaces
  • English proficiency required
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
