Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Field Services Engineer to support large-scale papermaking equipment across North America. This role requires a strong mechanical background or knowledge of controls and automation systems, with on-site repair and preventive maintenance at customer sites.

You will troubleshoot mechanical or programmable issues and produce detailed field reports with improvement recommendations. The ideal candidate holds a two- or four-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls

Qualifications

• A two or four-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls Engineering, Papermaking Technology, or a related field.
• Three to five years minimum experience in a technical role within the papermaking industry or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For those with a Controls background, understanding of PLC programming with a knowledge of Rockwell Software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform on-site repair or preventive maintenance services at customer’s site and in accordance with contract requirements.
• Troubleshoot either mechanical or programmable related issues.
• Generate customer-focused, high quality, and timely field reports with strong recommendations for improvements of customers’ processes or systems.

As a Field Services Engineer on the Component Team, you will apply your skills and experiences to support the performance of the large-scale papermaking equipment at our customers facilities across North America. The individual must have either a strong mechanical background or knowledge of controls and automation systems.

• Lead and perform on-site repair or preventive maintenance services at customer’s site and in accordance with contract requirements
• Troubleshoot either mechanical or programmable related issues
• Generate customer-focused, high quality, and timely field reports with strong recommendations for improvements of customers’ processes or systems

What you’ll need

• A two or four-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Papermaking Technology, or a related field.
• Three to five years minimum experience ina technical role within the papermaking industry or a related technical field; or equivalentcombination of education and experience.
• For those with a Controls background, understanding of PLC programming with a knowledge of Rockwell Software a plus.
