Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic in Charlotte, NC. You will perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on generators at customer sites with minimal direction, engaging customers professionally and maintaining detailed service records.

You will use diagnostic tools and pursue ongoing certifications while maintaining your own tools. Relocation package offered; on-site role with flexibility.

Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer site with minimal direction. We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Completing repair activities on generators or components
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of service
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

Competencies

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

(Entry)

• Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Skill, Education, or Experience Preferences that are nice to have but not required)

• A current valid license is required for this role
• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
