Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic B to service and repair our fleet at customer job sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure equipment safety and reliability onsite.

The role requires operating various machinery, strong safety practices, and excellent customer communication. Candidates must be on-call and possess a valid driver's license. Hercules Rentals offers comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read detailed technical schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labels.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps.
• On-call availability to support operational needs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at long-term customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hoses, battery replacements and related services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to maintain proper operation at the job site.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Recondition and replace parts to restore safe operation.
• Educate customers on proper use of equipment to prevent future breakdowns.
• Analyze wear to plan for next service visit.
• Follow safety guidelines at active job sites.
• Keep the work area clean and organized on site.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Follow all field procedures and protocols.
• Build positive relationships with customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
