Job summary

SUDDEN SERVICE INC is seeking a field service technician in Gonzales, LA to perform diesel engine and hydraulic repairs at customer sites, with emphasis on reliability and customer satisfaction.

You will work under the Service Supervisor, diagnose malfunctions, replace worn parts, and ensure proper operation and maintenance training for customers. DOT certification and clean driving record are required, with some overnight stays possible.

Qualifications

• Some vocational or formal schooling in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
• Three years on‑the‑job experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics.
• DOT certification is required or must be obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Service Supervisor to plan effective work and travel schedule.
• Diagnose malfunctions; repair/replace parts; install new assemblies.
• Provide tools/parts and arrange facilities to perform repair work (usually on customer premises).
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery, at intervals, and after repairs.
• Report time, parts, travel, and other details for accurate billing.
• Promote and maintain the company image with neat appearance and truck upkeep.
• Train or supervise other servicemen on large units or complex repairs.
• Complete work orders and job paperwork in a timely manner.
