Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance and repairs on client sites. You will apply advanced mechanical knowledge to ensure equipment is operational and ready for rental, while mentoring B/C level techs.

Based at customer sites, you will manage preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and field services with a focus on safety and quality standards. Strong tool skills and outdoor work capability are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; able to operate a fully equipped service truck.
• Ownership of necessary hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and job-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PM schedules for Herc-owned fleet at active job sites.
• Operate/test equipment onsite to confirm quality standards before and after repairs.
• Independently perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks.
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, tire/hose/battery replacements, and related field services.
• Recondition/replace heavy equipment parts and diagnose wear/tear onsite.
