Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic B to support fleet maintenance at customer job sites. This intermediate technician will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and service equipment on the road, ensuring readiness on the rental line.

The role focuses on on-site maintenance, electrical and hydraulic diagnostics, and collaboration with shop leaders while following safety standards and documenting all repairs and inspections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Own a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive/operate service truck and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; ability to read schematics.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance at active job sites.
• Independently replace filters, oil, water pumps, hoses, and radiators onsite.
• Diagnose/repair cooling, electrical, and hydraulic systems on site.
• Use fleet management and diagnostic tools to review work orders and document service.
• Mentor Field Service Mechanic C techs and maintain accurate service reports.
