Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead technical work at customer sites and maintain our equipment fleet. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and ensure safety standards on every job site.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, on-call availability, and a strong customer service mindset to support the growth and trust of Herc Rentals in North America.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulics and pumps.
• Ownership of tools to complete repairs and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of preventive maintenance at long term customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Return equipment to safe functioning state and educate customers on proper use.
• Produce detailed service reports and logs.
• Follow all field procedures and build customer relationships.
