Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to join our North America fleet support team. You will serve as a master technician, lead in product knowledge, and ensure our equipment at customer job sites remains in proper operating condition.

You will travel to local job sites, work independently, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, and educate customers on proper use to prevent future breakdowns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test heavy equipment (boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators).
• Ability to read detailed technical schematics and manuals.
• Ownership of a sufficient set of hand and power tools for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at customer sites.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery replacements.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to restore operation.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
