Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Field Service Engineer to travel extensively across the Northeast and the U.S. to install, calibrate, repair, and maintain XRF and materials testing equipment at customer sites.

The role combines on-site and remote support with customer training, requiring independence in varied environments and frequent overnight travel. Key responsibilities include diagnosing electronic/mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring ISO/compliance standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics servicing and troubleshooting of electronic instruments.
• Hands-on experience with XRF or materials analysis systems is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, calibrate, and maintain instruments.
• Knowledge of ISO manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to travel; strong scheduling and prioritization.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, service, and repair XRF and materials analysis systems.
• Diagnose electronic and mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Calibrate instruments and perform installation verification to ensure accuracy.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
• Train customers on operation, care, and basic troubleshooting.
