Job summary

Rigaku Americas is seeking a Field Service Engineer in the Salt Lake City area to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and support for advanced XRF, TXRF, and XRD analytical instruments. The role requires frequent travel to client sites and close collaboration with scientists.

You will install, maintain, and repair analytical X-ray equipment and related devices, including high voltage power supplies, detectors, and cryogenic components.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electro-mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with scientists and customers.
• Willingness to travel routinely, including international travel as required.
• Proficient with MS Office; basic network interfacing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and basic service on Rigaku analytical instruments (XRF, TXRF, XRD).
• Troubleshoot on-site using DVM and standard diagnostic procedures.
• Verify instrument performance after service and obtain customer acceptance.
• Arrange travel and prepare expense reports; coordinate WebEx sessions as needed.
• Attend Rigaku training and collaborate with service/support centers.
