Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Field Service Engineer to act as the dedicated local presence for a strategic customer in Southeast Virginia and the Eastern Shore. You will support the reliable operation of critical water infrastructure and work across the full project lifecycle from design to commissioning and ongoing support.

You will build trusted customer relationships, troubleshoot complex systems, and deliver on-site and remote services with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years engineering, field service, or technical support experience in industrial environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical resource and Emerson representative for customer locations.
• Build strong customer partnerships through engagement and technical expertise.
• Deliver training and guidance on system operation and troubleshooting.
• Support installation, modification, maintenance, commissioning, startup, and repair of control systems.
• Provide technical recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
• Investigate and resolve technical challenges using structured troubleshooting.
• Develop and improve maintenance procedures and operational practices.
• Support projects through lifecycle stages including FAT, installation, and startup.
• Maintain documentation of service activities and findings.
