Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource and Emerson's representative for assigned customer locations.
• Build strong customer partnerships through consistent engagement, responsiveness, and technical expertise.
• Deliver training and technical guidance to customer personnel on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting best practices.
• Support the installation, modification, maintenance, commissioning, startup, and repair of control systems and related equipment.
• Provide technical consultation and recommendations to improve equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve technical challenges using structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Develop, update, and improve maintenance procedures, quality processes, and operational practices.
• Support projects throughout the lifecycle, including engineering support, FAT, installation, commissioning, startup, testing, and ongoing customer support.
• Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, reliability, and effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, technical findings, and customer recommendations.
• Champion a culture of safety and ensure all work is performed to standards.

Remote in Southeast Virginia - Hampton Roads or Eastern Shore region

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Serve as the primary technical resource and Emerson representative for assigned customer locations.

• Support the installation, modification, maintenance, commissioning, startup, and repair of control systems and related equipment.

• Support projects throughout the entire lifecycle, including engineering support, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), installation, commissioning, startup, testing, and ongoing customer support.
• Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, reliability, and effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, technical findings, and customer recommendations.
• Champion a culture of safety and ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and procedures.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of three (3) years of engineering, field service, operations, maintenance, automation, or technical support experience within industrial, utility, manufacturing, water/wastewater, power generation, or related industries.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical and operational issues within complex systems.
• Experience with or willingness to learn skills leading and implementing engineering solutions for DCS and SCADA projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a customer-focused environment.
• Residence in, or willingness to relocate to, the Southeast Virginia, Hampton Roads, or Eastern Shore region.
• Ability and willingness to travel regionally up to 75% to support customer projects and service activities.
• Legal authorization to work in the United State - sponsorship will not be provided for this position, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), or industrial automation systems.
• Working knowledge of Ladder Logic, SAMA diagrams, and P&ID drawings.
• Experience within power generation, water treatment, wastewater treatment, or other critical infrastructure industries.
• Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, and industrial networking technologies.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing field engineering, commissioning, startup, or technical service role.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $120,000 annually + OT, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
