Job summary

Lunar Energy in Mountain View, CA seeks a Technical Service Engineer to be the technical backbone of Lunar installations. You will provide remote support to channel partners and Field Service Engineers, and act as a subject-matter expert on Lunar products, monitoring the fleet to address site issues.

This role is based primarily at our Mountain View HQ, with some local and national travel required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical field experience.
• 5+ years designing and installing residential solar, battery, and/or EV charging systems.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check.
• Electrical Journeyman certification or license preferred; knowledge of NEC and codes.
• Ability to read single-line drawings, permit packages, and technical specs for PV/ESS systems.
• Comfortable interpreting device telemetry and spotting anomalies in large data sets.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical issues; familiarity with interconnection and AHJ processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Office apps.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to travel within local region.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote support to installation partners and Field Service Engineers and coordinate site visits.
• Serve as the SME on installing and troubleshooting Lunar products, performing root-cause analysis remotely and on-site.
• Assess and approve field RMAs; own escalations end-to-end through resolution.
• Monitor alerts via the Lunar System Alerting dashboard and update installing companies on site visits.
• Analyze telemetry and metrics to flag installer errors and recommend improvements.
