Job summary

Applied Materials seeks an Installation Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and optimize advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites. You will travel extensively, troubleshoot complex systems, and partner with customers to keep critical operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in relevant field.
• Associate degree, military technical training, or field service experience.
• 2–4 years of work experience in semiconductor or equipment support industries.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of hand tools and their proper usage, including digital multimeters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
• Must meet on-site safety and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, plasma, and gas systems.
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions with senior engineers’ support.
• Build strong customer relationships through effective communication and technical support.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand production goals and equipment requirements.
• Document service activities and provide timely updates to customers and team members.
• Share knowledge and support the development of less-experienced engineers.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
