Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking an Installation Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) to install, maintain, and optimize advanced manufacturing equipment for semiconductor fabrication at customer sites. You will combine hands-on troubleshooting with customer partnership to keep critical operations running smoothly and support ongoing equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; Associate degree or military tech training acceptable.
2–4 years in semiconductor or equipment support industry is preferred.
Strong mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics knowledge.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade equipment at customer sites.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, plasma, and gas systems.
Diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions with senior engineer support.
Build customer relationships through effective communication and technical support.
Document service activities and provide timely updates to customers and team members.
Share knowledge and support development of less-experienced engineers.
Follow safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
