Job summary

Applied Materials seeks an Installation Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) to join our global team, installing, maintaining, and optimizing semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites with up to 75% travel. You will collaborate with senior engineers to resolve issues and ensure minimal downtime, while delivering superior customer service.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, strong communication, and continuous learning with access to industry-leading technology;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree as stated.
• 2–4 years of semiconductor or equipment-support experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, thermodynamics.
• Experience with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain passport.
• Ability to meet on-site requirements including safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose issues and implement solutions with support from senior engineers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and gas systems.
• Build strong customer relationships through effective communication.
• Document service activities and provide timely updates to customers and team members.
