Job summary

KLA is seeking a Field Service Technician in Taylor, TX to diagnose and repair semiconductor equipment, prepare service reports, and build accurate customer quotes. You will perform preventive maintenance and support CM activities while collaborating with engineers and other teams to improve knowledge and service quality.

The role requires 2+ years in semiconductors or related fields, or a relevant college degree. ASET or BS in engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in semiconductor or related field or military service.
• Equivalent college degree.
• Preferred: ASET or BS in Mechanical/Electronics/Engineering Technology or related area

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot technical equipment problems under direction and supervision.
• Prepare Field Service Reports on customer support activity, provide documentation to other functions.
• Prepare quotes for customers based on labor, travel expenses and parts under direction.
• Return parts to distribution center on time.
• Perform PM on assigned products by themselves.
• Carry out CM following POA provided to them.
• Assist other field service and support Install Engineers.
• Contribute to knowledge capture, collaboration and improvement using available systems.
• Communicate with customers on work plan and progress.
