Job summary

Valmet seeks a Technical Service Representative to deliver field service and technical support for papermaking finishing equipment. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and train operators, supporting customers across North America from the United States and Canada.

You will travel extensively, perform site audits, prepare reports, and contribute to equipment and process improvements while collaborating with customers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Papermaking Technology, or related technical field.
• 3–5 years of technical experience within the papermaking industry or related industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and advisory services to customers and contractors.
• Assist with equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and field service work.
• Prepare service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Train customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Conduct site audits and identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
• Support customers throughout the United States and North America.
