Job summary

Nordson Measurement & Control is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer sites across Illinois and surrounding areas. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service, and willingness to travel extensively to minimize downtime and maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and collaboration with engineering and sales teams to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Military Equivalent.
• Experience in Industrial Technology, or a related field a plus.
• 2+ years of field service, maintenance, or technical support experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and configure equipment according to company and customer requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software-related issues.
• Repair and replace defective components and parts.
• Respond promptly to service calls and customer support requests.
• Document service activities, maintenance records, and repair reports accurately.
• Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers and end users.
• Collaborate with engineering, technical support, and sales teams to resolve complex issues.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Manage service tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory.
• Travel frequently to customer locations as required.
