Job summary

Pyrotek is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver hands-on technical and customer support across the U.S. and international sites.

You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain industrial equipment, traveling as required to installations, startups, and service calls. You’ll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales teams, interpreting drawings and schematics, and training customers on operation and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience with manufacturing equipment.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot machinery using technical principles, drawings, manuals, and established procedures.
• Working knowledge of PLC controls and programming.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and CADD applications preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid U.S. Passport, or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment in demanding manufacturing environments.
• Provide onsite technical support for equipment operation, maintenance, commissioning, and repair.
• Support the installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial equipment and engineered systems.
• Inspect and test machinery and equipment to verify proper operation and performance.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, operating manuals, and technical documentation.
• Diagnose equipment issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
• Perform instrument loop checks and system safety checks.
• Troubleshoot and tune equipment controls and system integration.
• Apply PLC knowledge to support the troubleshooting, programming, design, and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide technical training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Investigate equipment failures and customer complaints and determine appropriate corrective action.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings, recommendations, and resolutions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to resolve technical issues and improve customer satisfaction.
