Job summary

Nova (NASDAQ: NVMI) is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support our metrology systems at customer sites and Nova facilities. You will interface with R&D and Service teams to install, qualify, maintain and repair equipment.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, experience with high-vacuum systems, and willingness to travel about 25% for field service events and training. You will train customers and contribute to reliability data and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Capital semiconductor equipment knowledge including X-ray and vacuum systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience with high-vacuum systems is highly preferred.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing practices, safety, ergonomics, and yield optimization.
• Proficiency in first-level software troubleshooting and support.
• Familiarity with equipment integration and communication protocols such as SECS/HSMS.
• Comfortable performing manual and physical tasks in a cleanroom environment.
• Willingness to travel for service events, customer training, and onsite support (≈25%).

Responsibilities

• Support Nova systems under warranty and End User service agreements.
• Maintain Nova parts inventory and stock levels per policy.
• Assist in new equipment installations, add-ons, and upgrades.
• Provide feedback to division engineering and service teams.
• Employ FSRs for all service activities.
• Provide customer training and retraining.
• Ensure adequate knowledge among customers' users.
• Repair parts and components per policy including diagnosis, repair and upgrades.
• Manage escalations and critical customer situations.
• Act as primary contact between factory and customers for data collection and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with field support, engineering and operations to feed back on serviceability and reliability.
• Report design, reliability or maintenance issues to engineering.
• Create, edit and review technical field and training materials.
• Support beta programs at customer sites and division engineering center.
• Provide customer support during working schedule as defined by contract; be prepared to extend.
