Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide remote and on-site technical support for advanced life sciences instrumentation. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair systems at customer sites, while working with cross-functional teams to ensure customer success.

The role requires 3+ years in field service within life sciences or medical devices, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to travel up to 85% domestically with occasional international trips.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in engineering, life sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of field service engineering experience in life sciences, diagnostics, medical devices, or related industries.
• Skills: troubleshooting, root cause analysis, customer service, technical documentation, hardware/software support, communication.
• Working conditions: remote field-based role with up to 85% domestic travel and occasional international travel.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift and move equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform hands-on technical work.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and related systems at customer sites.
• Provide remote and onsite technical support for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct testing, validation, and basic laboratory procedures to verify system performance.
• Document service activities, maintenance records, and customer interactions.
• Identify customer concerns and communicate feedback to internal teams.
• Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of products and service procedures.
• Manage service assignments independently and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer success.
• Travel extensively to customer locations for installations and repairs.
