Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco's Laser-based Annealing technology and drive customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a strategic customer with the objective of adopting a new technology through installation and start-up, sustaining and troubleshooting of Semiconductor equipment. Position involves domestic and international travel (as needed) for training and support of other accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, preferably Electrical and Optical.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical service, field service, or customer support position.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies.
• Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following upon all customer's and Veeco's protocols related to safety and security.
• Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action.
• Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs.
• Develop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
• Ability to drive onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for the targeted site.
• Escalate and communicate all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reports.
