Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a technically skilled Field Service Engineer to support our growing industrial equipment and controls team based in Addison, IL.

You will travel to customer sites to install, calibrate, and repair custom equipment, while also contributing to internal SOPs and digitizing records. Back at the facility you will update manuals, train customer personnel, and help shape a scalable service department.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on maintenance or field service experience on industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic meters.
• BS/AAS or technical certifications in electronics/engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, commission, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across electrical, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Provide hands-on training to customer personnel on operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Build relationships with customers and be the primary contact for service needs.
• Identify upsell opportunities including service agreements and preventive maintenance.
• Relay field feedback to internal teams to support improvements.
• Assist with in-house assembly and testing during non-travel periods.
