Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Field Service Technician in Houston, TX, to install, commission, service, and support Flexim Flow and Analytical products at customer sites. You will train end users and technical sales teams while ensuring safe, compliant operations.

You will diagnose issues, perform field tests, and document activities using digital tools, collaborating with engineering, sales, and support teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining technical equipment in a field or service environment.
• At least 5 years of work experience in an Instrument and Controls environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and procedures.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as required.
• Ability to travel up to 50% across the US with potential for Canada and Mexico.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Emerson Flexim products and systems at customer locations
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues using technical documentation, tools, and best practices
• Perform field tests, surveys and upgrades of installed systems
• Provide clear, professional communication to customers regarding findings, solutions, and recommendations
• Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner using digital tools and systems
• Provide customer service, application support, and product training to end users, technical sales reps and employees
• Ability to travel with minimal notice
• Follow all safety, quality, and compliance requirements while working independently or with team members
• Collaborate with internal partners such as engineering, sales, and technical support to resolve complex issues
• Communicate and work with the product development team
• Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities to expand technical capabilities and product knowledge
• Write training manuals and technical procedures
• Assist and train newer field service technicians
• Represent Emerson’s values by delivering dependable service and a positive customer experience
