Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Field Service Engineer - Power Plants based in Houston, TX. You will diagnose and resolve engineering challenges related to installation, startup, and operation of DCS systems at customer sites.

You will work with Sales and Customers to scope projects, develop cost estimates, coordinate with vendors, and lead technical meetings while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years of related Field Service/engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50-75% seasonally.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes for power and water applications with Sales and Customers.
• Conduct site walkdowns and prepare cost estimates for retrofit projects.
• Develop specifications and coordinate with third-party vendors.
• Evaluate bids and manage regional projects scheduling and outcomes.
• Lead meetings and document technical decisions; design and test control systems.
• Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Provide engineering guidance to customers and internal teams.
