Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking a technically strong field service technician to travel to customer plants to install, startup, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plastic-processing and injection molding equipment.

You will diagnose machine issues, read schematics, and test components with a multimeter, while working with motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics to keep lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 3–5 years of manufacturing or technical experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and controls.
• Ability to read electrical/hydraulic schematics and test components with a multimeter.
• Customer-facing technical service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' manufacturing facilities ~80% of the time to install, startup, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and optimize equipment.
• Diagnose why machines aren’t working and implement fixes.
• Read schematics and test electrical components with a multimeter.
• Work on motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Install or commission new machinery and train customer staff.
• Document repairs, time, costs, and issues discovered.

Job description

You would travel to customers' manufacturing facilities - about 80% of the time - to install, start up, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and optimize plastic-processing equipment, injection molding equipment.

The Equipment Includes:

• Reaction-processing machinery
• Robots and automation systems
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems

Day-to-day work

A Typical Job Could Involve:

• Going to a customer's plant
• Diagnosing why a machine isn't working correctly
• Reading electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Testing electrical components with a multimeter
• Working on motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
• Using basic PLC knowledge to troubleshoot controls
• Installing or commissioning new machinery
• Training the customer's operators/maintenance staff
• Documenting what you repaired, how long it took, costs, and additional problems discovered
• Occasionally helping newer service employees learn the equipment
