Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a mid-level Field Service Engineer to independently perform maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting on LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, and related electrical equipment at customer sites. The role includes commissioning support, safety compliance, and mentoring junior technicians.

You will read schematics and one-line diagrams, document test results, and travel 50–80% to diverse facilities, including industrial plants, utilities, and data centers.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of field service experience with LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, generators, or related electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices including LOTO and arc‑flash risk controls.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and one‑lines.
• Ability to write clear field reports and maintain accurate test documentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 50–80% and work at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform preventive maintenance and testing on LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, RPPs, and PDUs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues; escalate complex faults.
• Support commissioning activities including pre-energization checks and functional testing.
• Lead portions of job execution and mentor junior technicians.
• Document service activities and maintain punch lists and field reports.
• Coordinate with project managers and supply chain on parts and material needs.
