Job summary

Forgent Power seeks a Level 5 Switchgear Field Engineer to lead complex field service for MV/HV systems, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and modernization. You will guide on-site teams, ensure safety compliance, and mentor junior staff while maintaining quality and schedules.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, testing, relay commissioning, and coordination with PMs and engineering. Travel 50–80% and lifting up to 50 lbs are part of the role on customer sites and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of field experience with MV/HV switchgear, breakers, and protection & control systems.
• Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning/service events.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E/OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Lead field execution for switchgear installation, commissioning, and service.
• Plan and perform diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
• Perform protection relay commissioning and end-to-end verification.
• Interpret and redline electrical drawings and verify as-built conditions.
• Ensure safety compliance and lead on-site safety briefings.
• Mentor junior engineers/technicians and coordinate with teams.
