Job summary

Forgent Power seeks a Field Service Engineer Level 3 to perform maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting on electrical power distribution in field settings. You will own scopes, support commissioning, mentor apprentices, and coordinate with project managers.

The role requires 3–4 years of hands-on experience, strong safety knowledge, and willingness to travel as needed. Expect on-site work at customer facilities, with travel typically 50–80% depending on region and workload.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, military electrical training, or Associate's degree a plus.
• 3–4 years of relevant field service experience with LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, generators, or related equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety practices including LOTO and arc-flash risk controls.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-lines.
• Ability to write clear field reports and maintain accurate test documentation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required, sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and testing on LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, RPPs, and PDUs.
• Read one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues; escalate complex faults as needed.
• Support commissioning activities including pre-energization checks and functional testing.
• Lead portions of job execution and mentor apprentices and junior technicians.
• Document service activities and maintain punch lists and field reports.
